Michael Spyres in Recital at Palau de les Arts Valencia

On November 16, American baritenor Michael Spyres appears in recital at the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía in Valencia, accompanied by his frequent artistic partner, pianist Mathieu Pordoy. The program features Beethoven’s tender and serene “An die ferne Geliebte”, op. 98; Wagner’s intimate, dreamlike “Wesendonck Lieder”; Liszt’s rhapsodic and ardent “Tre sonetti del Petrarca”; and Mahler’s raw and reflective “Lieder eines fahrenden Gesellen”.

Recognized internationally as one of today’s leading opera singers, Spyres is also a devoted and acclaimed interpreter of lieder and art song, spanning a wide range of languages and musical eras.
