Michael Spyres as Florestan in “Fidelio” at the Wiener Staatsoper

Less than two weeks after his last performance as Bacchus in Ariadne auf Naxos, on February 13, 2025, Michael Spyres returns to the Wiener Staatsoper as Florestan in Ludwig van Beethoven’s “Fidelio” in a production by the late Otto Schenk and under the musical direction of Axel Kober. He will share the stage with Simone Schneider as the protagonist, Bryn Terfel as Don Pizarro, Florina Ilie as Marzelline, Georg Zeppenfeld as Rocco, Daniel Jenz as Jaquino, and Peter Kellner as Don Fernando. Additional performances will be on February 16, 20, and 23.
