Michael Spyres as Énée in Berlioz’s Les Troyens at the Festival Berlioz, Salzburg Festival, Opéra Royal Versailles, Berliner Festspiele and BBC Proms London

Michael Spyres sings the role of Énée in concert performances of Hector Berlioz’s Les Troyens with John Eliot Gardiner conducting the Orchestre Révolutionnaire et Romantique and the Monteverdi Choir in a European tour, which opens on August 22 at Cour du Château Louis XI, La Côte Saint André, France with the first part of Berlioz’s masterpiece, the second part taking place the following evening. Subsequently, the whole opera will be performed at the Großes Festspielhaus of the Salzburg Festival on August 26, at the Opéra Royal, Château de Versailles on August 29, at the Philharmonie Berlin, Großer Saal, Berlin on September 1, and at the Royal Albert Hall, London, for the BBC Proms on September 3. Other singers in lead roles include Alice Coote as Cassandra, Paula Murrihy as Didon, Lionel Lhote as Chorèbe/Sentinelle I, and Beth Taylor as Anna.
