Michael Spyres as Don José in “Carmen” at the Gran Teatre del Liceu Barcelona

Michael Spyres returns to the role of Don José in “Carmen”, for which he has in recent years received rave reviews, on January 4, 2023, at the Gran Teatre del Liceu Barcelona, in the wildly popular production by Calixto Bieito and under the musical direction of Josep Pons, singing alongside Clémentine Margaine in the title role, Jeanine De Bique as Micaëla, Eric Green as Escamillo, Jasmine Habersham as Frasquita, Laura Vila as Mercédès, Jan Antem as Dancaïre, Carlos Cosías as Remendado, Felipe You as Zuniga, Toni Marsol as Moralès. He will sing in additional performances on January 8, 10, 13, 15 and 17.
