Michael Spyes in Berlioz’s “Les nuits d’eté” with the Philharmonie Luxembourg.

On April 3, 2025, at the Grand Auditorium Luxembourg, Michael Spyres will perform Hector Berlioz’s song cycle “Les nuits d’eté” with Riccardo Minasi leading the Luxembourg Philharmonic. Ludwig van Beethoven’s “Egmont: Ouvertüre” and Symphonie N° 8 are also on the program.

The Missouri-born baritenor has long been recognized as one of the foremost interpreters of Berlioz’s music, particularly fiendishly challenging works such as “Benvenuto Cellini” and “Lelio”; his recent Erato recording of “Les nuits d’eté” with John Nelson leading the Orchestre philharmonique de Strasbourg has received rave reviews internationally.
