Katarina Bradić sings the Mother, the Chinese Cup, and the Dragonfly in Ravel’s “L’Enfant et les Sortilèges” at the Hamburg State Opera, opening November 7. The opera shares a double bill with Stravinsky’s ballet “Petruschka.” Created by the theater collective 1927, the production brings singers, acrobats, and the orchestra into a world of live animation and projection.
Katarina Bradić made her Hamburg State Opera debut in February 2020 as Bradamante in Handel’s “Alcina,” to glowing reviews.
In this production, Patricia Nolz sings the Child and Sarah Aristidou sings the Fire, the Princess, and the Nightingale. Vitali Alekseenok conducts the first five performances; Volker Krafft conducts the final one. Further dates are November 11, 17, 20, 25, and 27.
