Kangmin Justin Kim in the title role of Huang Ruo’s M. Butterfly at the London Barbican Centre

In the summer of 2022, Kangmin Justin Kim created a sensation as he originated the title role of Huang Ruo’s M. Butterfly at the Santa Fe Opera. On October 25, he reprises this part at the Barbican Centre in London in a performance directed by James Robinson, with Carolyn Kuan leading the BBC Orchestra, singing alongside Mark Stone as René Gallimard, Fleur Barron as Comrade Chin/Shu Fung, and Kevin Burdette as Manuel Toulon/Judge.
