Kangmin Justin Kim as Nerone in “L’incoronazione di Poppea” in Copenhagen

A signature role at the center of his Baroque repertoire: Kangmin Justin Kim appears as Nerone in Monteverdi’s L’incoronazione di Poppea at the Royal Danish Theatre.

Performances run from April 26 through May 4, 2026, in a production by Christoph Marthaler conducted by Lars Ulrik Mortensen, with Concerto Copenhagen.

He is joined by Kerstin Avemo (Poppea), Anne Sofie von Otter (Ottavia), Morten Grove Frandsen (Ottone), and Kyungil Ko (Seneca).

Kangmin Justin Kim has brought Nerone to major international stages including the Salzburg Festival, the Staatsoper Unter den Linden, and the Opéra National du Rhin, as well as on tour with the Monteverdi Choir under John Eliot Gardiner, establishing the role as a cornerstone of his repertoire.
