On March 6 and 7, 2026, at the Isarphilharmonie in Munich, Beth Taylor performs the role of the Angel in Elgar’s “The Dream of Gerontius” alongside tenor Andrew Staples and bass-baritone Andrew Foster-Williams, with the Munich Philharmonic conducted by Andrew Manze.
The Scottish mezzo-soprano has become a compelling interpreter of Elgar’s music, including this oratorio, which she has sung to critical acclaim at the Basilica of St Paul Outside the Walls in Rome, at Fairfield Halls in Croydon, and with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra under Ryan Wigglesworth in Edinburgh and her native Glasgow, among others.
