On September 11, Federico Fiorio appears at the Bayreuth Baroque Opera Festival in The Sopranos, a concert celebrating the extraordinary tradition of the male soprano.
At the historic Margravial Opera House, Federico Fiorio joins Maayan Licht and Dennis Orellana and the Wrocław Baroque Orchestra under Jarosław Thiel for a program showcasing the remarkable virtuosity and expressive range of the male soprano voice. The program features music by Handel, Hasse, Porpora, Albinoni and Broschi.
Renowned for his exceptional vocal agility, wide range and virtuosity, Federico Fiorio is rapidly establishing himself as one of the most distinctive voices of his generation in the Baroque repertoire. His artistry was recently recognized with a nomination for the 2026 Austrian Music Theatre Award for Best Male Supporting Role for his portrayal of Sesto in Handel’s “Giulio Cesare in Egitto” at the Salzburg Festival.
