Federico Fiorio in “Il trionfo del tempo e del disinganno” at the Aldeburgh Festival

On June 23, Federico Fiorio appears at the Aldeburgh Festival of Music and the Arts in Handel’s Il trionfo del Tempo e del Disinganno with La Nuova Musica under the direction of David Bates at Snape Maltings Concert Hall. The Italian countertenor sings the role of Bellezza alongside Chiara Skerath, Iestyn Davies, and Nick Pritchard. (Britten Pears Arts)

Written when Handel was only 21, Il trionfo del Tempo e del Disinganno already reveals the dramatic brilliance and melodic inspiration that would define his mature masterpieces, including an early version of the famous “Lascia ch’io pianga.”

Now firmly established as one of the most compelling young countertenors in the Baroque repertoire, Federico Fiorio is regularly invited by major European festivals and opera houses, earning recognition for the refinement, expressive sensitivity, and stylistic fluency he brings to his interpretations.
