Katarina Bradić sings Bradamante in concert performances of Handel’s Alcina under the musical direction of Philippe Jaroussky, who leads the Opéra Orchestre National de Montpellier at Le Corum (Montpellier) on November 3, and the Ensemble Artaserse at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées (Paris) and the Palau de la Música (Barcelona) on November 5 and 9, respectively. She joins a stellar cast that includes Kathryn Lewek in the title role, Carlo Vistoli as Ruggiero, Lauranne Oliva as Morgana, Zachary Wilder as Oronte, and Nicolas Brooymans as Melisso.
Bradamante is a signature role for the Serbian mezzo-soprano, who has sung it at the Staatsoper Hamburg, the Aix-en-Provence Festival, the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow, Theater an der Wien, and Theater Basel. Later this month, she will star in another Handel masterpiece, singing the title role in Orlando at Les Théâtres de la Ville de Luxembourg.
