Michael Spyres debuts the role of Bacchus in“Ariadne auf Naxos” at the Wiener Staatsoper

Another role debut for Michael Spyres, who – on January 21, 2025 – sings for the first time the part of Bacchus in Richard Strauss’s “Ariadne auf Naxos” at the Wiener Staatsoper, in a Sven-Eric Bechtolf production under the musical direction of Cornelius Meister, sharing the stage with Lise Davidsen as Primadonna/Ariadne, Sara Blanch as Zerbinetta, Kate Lindsay as Komponist and Jusung Gabriel Park as Harlekin in the other principal roles. Additional performances will occur on January 25, 28, and 31.
